The 2011 DC Peer Awards

The DC PEER Awards have closed for entries this year.

Judges are hard at work sorting through the hundreds of entries received for what promises to be the most exciting film and video competition i the mid-Atlantic Region.

About the Peer Awards

The Peer Awards began in 1997 through the efforts of several board members of the former Washington Film and Video Council (WFVC). Their intent was to provide well-deserved recognition to those media production professionals who create the outstanding work that consistently comes from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The WFVC ceased operations in 2000 and a year later, ITVA-DC stepped up to combine the competition with its existing, popular “'ITVA-DC Video Festival”. Today, the Peer Awards continue to celebrate local excellence in media and offer one of the most sought-after awards in our community. The 2011 Peer Awards Ceremony will be held at the National Press Club on Saturday, November 19, at 6:00 pm.

Awards:
GOLD winners take home a trophy the night of the event.  Silver and Bronze winners receive a newly-designed, foil-embossed certificate the night of the event that is suitable for framing.  All winners will be honored at the Peer Awards Ceremony and listed on the PEER Awards website at www.dcpeerawards.org along with clips of their entries.  Photos and videos of the event can be seen on the PEER Awards Shutterfly site at www.peerawardsvideo.shutterfly.com.
