The Show Us Your Reel event is like an open mic night - but with more talent on display than most. Bring your reel, a sample of your music or announcing skills, or just come and tell us why you should be hired.

This event is usually packed - so register early to make sure you have time to upload your content to our shared drive before the event (but bring a removable USB thumb drive as a backup, just in case).

Talking/presenting time per person will be limited to about one to two minutes before their two-minute reel is shown, with a Q&A/networking session afterward. And if you're the type who doesn't like talking to groups, type something up and we'll get one of our professional announcer types to read for you.

As we've done in the past, we've got a shared drive set up for you to upload your material in advance of the event - the preferred format is listed below, and specifics (including a link to the drive) will be sent out to you upon registration.

Check out a some of the demo reel videos from last year's Show Us Your Reel !

Note that all material should be uploaded prior to the event; we will not plan to assemble material from USB drives or optical discs provided at the event (except as needed in the case of technical error).

    Preferred demo format
    1920x1080, H.264 MPEG-4 with MP3 or AAC audio (128 kbps, 44.1 or 48kHz)

Networking/food and drink will begin at 6:30, and reels will start showing at 7:10 p.m.

    Célébrons l'Excellence!

    The Peer Awards Parties On

    at the French Embassy

TIVA-DC will once again serve as the host organization of the 2016 TIVA Peer Awards, the most comprehensive film, video and Internet competition for professionals and media students in the mid-Atlantic region.  The 2016 TIVA PEER Awards will take place within the elegant ballroom and reception lobby at the prestigious Embassy of France on Saturday November 12, 2016.  Last year’s 2015 Peer Awards included many outstanding moments: awards of merit to a stellar pool of entrants; the first ever DC Council Recognition Resolution; and the participation of all three DMV Film Offices. This year’s awards gala promises to deliver an unequaled evening of achievement, sophistication and fun!

This highly anticipated annual awards event recognizes excellence in achievement within the Television, Video and Internet production community and this year’s awards ceremony promises to raise the bar across the board for what is destined to become a memorable evening of celebration, networking, recognition and distinction.  Refining and streamlining some categories and offering the addition of brand new categories that reflect the latest cutting edge horizons of current production activity promises excitement and distinction within the industry and across the entire DMV community. New categories for submission include: NEW MEDIA comprised of Web Series and Interactive Media including for Museums, Exhibits, and Special Applications.

The elegant atmosphere and unique aesthetic of the Embassy of France promises an evening of sophisticated fun along with an enhanced reception and socializing time that promises the familiar camaraderie and fun of seeing old friends,  meeting new colleagues, and connecting with winners past and present.

Be a part of the 2016 TIVA Peer Awards! Submit your work, attend the gala and become a part of a legacy of achievement!

For more information on how to get involved as a judge, entrant, guest, staff or crew, contact the 2016 TIVA Peer Awards Chair: Todd.Clark@tivadc.org

Please scroll down and click "register" on the left to buy tickets to attend the awards.

The TIVA-DC Peer Awards is a merit-based award judged solely on the individual merits of the entry. This is not a competition, rather an acknowledgment and celebration of exceptional quality work created by professionals and non-professionals in the Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania or Delaware region. This may result in categories receiving multiple awards of the same level as well as some categories without awards.
